Laney Tower wins high marks at conference

Journalism Association of Community Colleges gives Tower 11 awards for writing, design By Bonnie Oviatt Editor-in-Chief The Laney Tower earned 11 awards at the 2017 Journalism Association of Community Colleges (JACC) State Conference held in Sacramento at the DoubleTree Inn from March 29 through April 2. The awards were for a wide variety of work done over the past 12 months and for on-the-spot competitions held at the conference. Laney Tower attends JACC

Six representatives from Laney College attended the Journalism Association of Community Colleges (JACC) 2014 NorCal Conference at California State University, Sacramento on November 8, 2014. Vying for the perfect shot, students participating in the JACC news photo competition gathered around the main podium and let the camera flashes fly. Multiple journalism competitions including news writing, news photo, editorial cartoon, and opinion writing centered around the keynote speech.
